Firestone IT

Managed IT that businesses actually relied on.

Dedicated IT support, before cloud was a given.

Firestone IT delivered managed IT services, support and cloud infrastructure for growing businesses across Sussex. Cloud migrations, VoIP, Wi-Fi: the full stack a business needed to stay operational and secure. Fixed monthly costs, no surprises, real people on the end of the phone.

They built something harder to replicate than technology: trust. Long-term client relationships grounded in reliability and doing what they said they would.

What they delivered

Fixed-Rate Support

Businesses could budget for IT like rent. No per-ticket billing, no escalating invoices.

Proactive Management

Problems caught before clients knew they existed. That trust took years to build.

Early Cloud Adoption

Microsoft 365 and Azure migrations when most SMEs were still running Exchange under someone's desk.

Communications Infrastructure

VoIP and managed Wi-Fi that scaled with the business, not against it.

Physical & Digital Security

CCTV, access control, network security. The full perimeter, not just one half.

White-Label IT

Other providers put their name on Firestone's work. The compliment nobody talks about.

Their DNA in AxisOps

When AxisOps came together in 2013, Firestone's service culture became central to how the company works. The principle that technology only counts if it works for the people using it? That came from Firestone.

Strong engineering is one thing. Genuine service is what makes it count.

AxisOps Timeline

  • 2001. The companies that would become AxisOps start building. The Network Factory, Firestone IT and other specialist companies, each solving different parts of the same problem across software, networking, managed services, DevOps and cloud.
  • 2001 to 2012. Over a decade of delivery. These companies grow by doing hard work well, picking up smaller specialists along the way.
  • 2013. AxisOps is formed to unify these operations. One company, one team, combined expertise.
  • 2014. Containers in production. We start migrating live client workloads into containerised environments early, before most of the industry catches up.
  • 2016. We build our own infrastructure platform micro-glue that unifies and abstracts away the underlying cloud. Azure, AWS or on-prem, clients get the same tooling, the same deployments, the same reliability. Zero lock-in.
  • 2018. The Coding Factory joins. Their software component architecture and engineering discipline strengthens our development capability.
  • 2019. Full-stack observability. A monitoring and tracing platform, built in-house. Every request traced, every metric captured, every alert meaningful.
  • 2020. We begin building our own software component framework codenamed Andromeda. The foundation for what will later become the building blocks of Microcelium.
  • Today. Agentic engineering and AI-assisted operations. Twenty-five years of production systems, now powered by Microcelium, our unifying platform. The tools change. The discipline doesn't.
