Senior engineers who build

Senior engineers, hands-on delivery

Our engineers build — they don't observe from the sidelines.
Every senior engineer brings 15+ years of experience and they don't just write code — they talk to clients, challenge assumptions and own outcomes.

Our team

Behind our leadership sits a team spanning software development, infrastructure, AI, security, IoT and operations. Every consultant is hands-on and client-facing — you'll work directly with the people building your solution.
When projects need more capacity, we scale through three channels: AI-assisted engineering that multiplies what each person can deliver, a network of specialist contractors who've delivered alongside us for years, and targeted hires when a long-term engagement warrants it. Every person on your project works to the same standards, with access to the same platform. You get the consistency of a dedicated team with the flexibility to grow around real demand.

25 years of building what works

Our story

We are not new to this.
AxisOps was formed in 2013 to unify several specialist technology companies under one operation. Companies that had spent over a decade building software, networking, hosting, managed services, security and cloud infrastructure for clients across the UK and beyond. Rather than keep running separate businesses with overlapping expertise, AxisOps brought them together. One team. One set of standards. Combined capability, each with deep expertise in their lane. Every tool we use today has been tested in anger across dozens of deployments. The discipline behind it comes from twenty-five years of doing this for real.

  • 2001. The companies that would become AxisOps start building. The Network Factory, Firestone IT and other specialist companies, each solving different parts of the same problem across software, networking, managed services, DevOps and cloud.

  • 2001 to 2012. Over a decade of delivery. These companies grow by doing hard work well, picking up smaller specialists along the way.

  • 2013. AxisOps is formed to unify these operations. One company, one team, combined expertise.

  • 2014. Containers in production. We start migrating live client workloads into containerised environments early, before most of the industry catches up.

  • 2016. We build our own infrastructure platform micro-glue that unifies and abstracts away the underlying cloud. Azure, AWS or on-prem, clients get the same tooling, the same deployments, the same reliability. Zero lock-in.

  • 2018. The Coding Factory joins. Their software component architecture and engineering discipline strengthens our development capability.

  • 2019. Full-stack observability. A monitoring and tracing platform, built in-house. Every request traced, every metric captured, every alert meaningful.

  • 2020. We begin building our own software component framework codenamed Andromeda. The foundation for what will later become the building blocks of Microcelium.

  • Today. Agentic engineering and AI-assisted operations. Twenty-five years of production systems, now powered by Microcelium, our unifying platform. The tools change. The discipline doesn't.

+ Why the name "AxisOps"?

"Axis" represents stability, alignment and precision – core qualities in how we design and deliver technology. It reflects our commitment to technical excellence and helping clients stay on track as they grow.

"Ops" comes from operations – connecting us with the modern ecosystem of iterative, automated, outcome-driven practices like DevOps, DataOps and MLOps. It reflects how we deliver: optimised, scalable, always pushing forward.

AxisOps combines deep technical capability with a get-it-done culture.

What our clients are saying

We had a concept for an AI voice assistant and no engineering team. AxisOps took us from vibe-coded idea to working product — an app and architecture that handles voice, AI, accounting and real-time data for tradespeople in the field. They didn't just build what we asked for, they challenged us on what would actually work.

We needed a platform that could handle litigation funding at scale — secure enough for ISO 27001, flexible enough for solicitors, funders and barristers to work on the same case file. AxisOps built it. Over £120M has flowed through that platform. When we needed ISO certification, they didn't just advise — they got us through it.

Our data centre networking was manual, slow and every change was a risk. AxisOps replaced it with a fully automated, software-defined network. Changes that used to take days now happen in minutes. They've been our infrastructure partner for years — the kind of team you stop thinking about because things just work.

Lab-based apprentices need to reach competence fast, but existing tools weren't built for how labs actually work. AxisOps built us a web and mobile platform that changes how our apprentices learn. The proof of concept worked so well we're now building the next version together. As we embrace AI, we're excited about what's next.

Our auditors were drowning in manual case processing. AxisOps automated the workflow between us, law firms and funders — cases that used to take days of back-and-forth now progress in hours. Next step is AI-powered auditing, and we're building that with them too. They don't just deliver projects, they stay and improve them.
